Volvo Ocean Race Museum
The Volvo Ocean Race Museum, the only one in the world that presents the world of sailing, is located five minutes from Explanada in the Volvo area of the Port of Alicante.
The Volvo Ocean Race Museum is free to enter, it is a modern space equipped with interactive elements, there are games with boats, making it the perfect experience to enjoy as a family. The Volvo Ocean Race Museum is where you can discover the incredible human stories that happened in the ancient history of this competition. The museum highlights what the boats are like and what life on board was like for the sailors who embarked on this adventure.
On weekends, the museum also offers two fantastic attractions: the race simulator and the Brazil 1 boat.
When visiting Brazil 1, visitors will not only appreciate the impressive dimensions of the Volvo Open 70 class, which is 21.5 metres long and 31.5 metres high. They will also see the incredible spaces that the sailors are in for the duration of the competition, which lasts 9 months.
The most adventurous can experience the Race Simulator (The Ride), which presents real moments on the boat, commonly known as the "Form 1" sea, while sailing the oceans with strong waves. The museum is equipped with a shop and a café where children can enjoy a free program.
